Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

This comes from the Monte Bello estate, and for those in the know has been a consistently excellent Cabernet dominate blend. With 2022 being a warm year with a Labor day heat event, this was aged for longer than is typical in oak to let the tannins mellow. The nose opens with classic Monte Bello notes of cassis, eucalyptus, mixed spice, and wood shavings. On the palate this has a presence of those tannins with cedar, some floral and pine, and a core of present black fruits. This will last for some years, but may be hard to resist. MK D&M November, 2025
