Quentin Jeannot Maranges Vielles Vignes 2022
D&M NOTES:
TASTING: The nose opens with some soft cherry and raspberry fruits nicely balanced by baked clay and earth notes. On the palate this is translucent with red plum, raspberry and cherry with just there clay minerality and a just there note of oak spice to finish. This worked wonderfully with Sous Vide Salmon and Tokyo Turnips. (MK, 02/2026)
ABOUT THE PRODUCER: This estate was founded by Valérie and Philippe Jeannot in 1997. They were joined by young Quentin in 2014. Overall they have 9 hectares of parcels in the Côte de Beaune, subsection of the Côte d’Or most precisely in Maranges, Santenay, Meursault, and Pommard. They practice organics on their parcels, but have not aimed for certification. This comes from a site of 60 year old vines, and after harvest this was destemmed and fermented and rested in 228 liter barrels on its fine lees.
