Pierre Trichet La Puissance Grand Cru Brut Champagne

TASTING: Pierre has stated that he makes Champagne that are present with primarily fruit character and we happen to agree. The nose opens with aromas intermingling notes of red plum, cassis, baked apple and a light spice note. The palate has a presence to it with moderate acidity and an enveloping palate of tart red plums, apple and a clay minerality and spice note to finish. Enjoy now, this will also last through 2028.

COMPOSITION & WINEMAKING: 100% Pinot Noir from a single named parcel called Les Montants located in Verzy, mostly from the 2019 vintage with the remaining 20% balance from 2018. Fermentation happens in stainless steel for this cuvee, as it does for all bottlings from the domaine. After spending three and a half years on its lees, it was disgorged with a dosage addition of 7.8 grams per liter. 

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: They own and farm vineyards in primarily three Premier Cru villages: Trois Puits, Montbré and Cormontreuil, with an additional small plot in the Grand Cru village of Verzy. At the estate they have all three varieties planted with 53% Pinot Meunier followed by 33% Pinot Noir and 14% Chardonnay, and a small amount of Pinot Blanc.
