Julien Mus Châteauneuf-du-Pape Graveirette 2020

IMPORTER NOTES:

TASTING: “(90% Grenache, 10% Syrah) Aromas of ripe black fruits, garrigue, licorice and a hint of balsamic with a touch of coffee and cocoa. The palate is refined yet full with powdery tannins, a silky structure and long elegant finish. This cuvee showcases a more refined exression of the appellation.”

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: "Located in the Provencal village of Bédarrides with Mont Ventoux to the east and the hills of Châteauneuf du Pape to the west, the Mus family have been selling family grapes for generations. Breaking with tradition after completing his viticultural and wine-making studies at Beaune in Burgundy, Julien Mus returned to the village he was born and founded Domaine de la Graveirette with his first solo vintage in 2005. The Domaine now consists of 11 ha producing wines under the appellations Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, and Vin de Pays de Vaucluse. Working organically since 2012 and biodynamically since 2015, Julien shows great care in the cultivation of his grapes and the winemaking process, harvesting by hand, not employing additives, and using minimal sulfur. Now bottling under his name Julien Mus, all of the Mus wines are marked by a distinct character of refreshing acidity balanced with round, complex fruit."
