Cain Five Library 2011

Though the winery and many of the vineyards burned in 2020, Cain has begun to release wine both with its current 2021 release, and vintages from its extensive library, of which this is a great example. From the cool to cold 2011 growing season, this comes across as more Bordeaux than typical 'Napa Cab.' The nose opens with a heady mix of plum, cherry, cedar, earth, violets, sage, and cooking spices. The tannins have resolved with a palate that shows fruit and savory notes in excellent balance.
