Bordiga Genepy Liqueur

IMPORTER NOTES:

OVERVIEW: “The Bordiga Genepy, along with vermouth, is one of the first recipes developed by Pietro in 1888. Genepy is a cultural treasure and Bordiga is the only distillery sourcing all of their plants from estate-owned and farmed fields. In adherence to Piemontese tradition it is made with only the flowers of the Genepy plant. Known as ‘Mountaineering Liqueur’ genepy is consumed as an expression of conviviality when meeting up with friends, an aperitivo or digestivo, and from a flask when hiking in the snow. Here in the United States it has also made inroads into cocktail culture.”

TASTING: "Flavors of white flowers, chamomile, candied lemon peel, and sweet mint. Try this in a Last Word, Highball, Elva Handshake, or pair with chocolate. (35% ABV)"

PRIMARY BOTANICALS: “Artemisia mutellina cultivated by Bordiga in the Alps outside the town of Elva between 8,000 - 10,000 feet.”

METHOD OF PRODUCTION: “Petals only of artemisia (no stems and leaves) dried and then infused for 20 days in neutral grain spirit. Rested 10 days, clarified naturally with cold temperature, paper filtered, then bottled.”
