Berthier Coteaux du Giennois 2024

This has been on our shelves for years and we love it for being the other, other, affordable Loire region dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc. (Coteau du Giennois is located across the mighty Loire from Sancerre adjacent to Pouilly Fume.) This is from the challenging 2024 vintage, though we found it quite consistent in comparison to the last handful of vintages, and as always this is organically grown. The nose opens with lifted tropical notes that come into focus as lychee, nicely balanced by a black stone minerality. This is light on the palate with moderate acid and a flavor set of citrus and minerality. This will work great with seafood as well as lighter dishes without too much spice.
