Antoine Lienhardt Bourgogne Blanc 2021

WINERY NOTES:

The domain Guyot-Lienhardt is a family owned wine estate located between Dijon and Beaune on the “Côte d'Or" in Burgundy. Antoine is the fourth generation of winemakers in the Guyot-Lienhardt family, the first one being Gustave Guyot who bought the lands in the second part of the 19th century. His son, Anselme, as well as his brother George followed and went on to work in the wine estate. When Anselme retired, Maurice, his only son, took up the reins.

Contrary to many fellow winemakers, we mostly avoided the terrible wave of frost that happened in April, only a few parcels were hit. However, the rainy season that followed made it hard for us to work in the vineyard. After the Spring cold slowed down the vines’ development, the vegetal growth skyrocketed, leading us to adapt to carry out the vine and soil works. Moreover, the ambient humidity forced us to use more treatments to fight diseases such as oidium and mildew. It was a tough year until harvest which started on september 15th. A strict grape selecting was carried out, both in the vineyard and in the cellar thanks to a sorting table. We find ourselves rewarded after such intense efforts as we are happy with this 2021 vintage. It is low in yield but we enjoy it very much, especially after this labourious season!
