Eisele Vineyard Altagracia Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

This year's Altagracia is one of the freshest and most balanced bottlings that we can recall tasting in the last handful of years. The nose shows a bit of cherry, blackberries, dark chocolate, sweet oak, and freshly cracked black pepper. The palate is moderate in weight with good tannins and refreshing acidity and a bit of a light cedar note in addition to the black fruits and mixed spices. MK D&M Tasting Notes September 2026

Aged 21 months in 78% new oak with 22% used Austrian and French foudres, it's remarkably pure and medium to full-bodied, with ripe, velvety tannins and a great finish. It doesn't have the same elegance as the Grand Vin, yet it's still a brilliant wine in its own right that will unquestionably evolve for upwards of two decades.
