Douhairet Porcheret Monthelie Premier Cru Les Duresses 2022
This is from the Monthelie village that we have been enjoying from the Cote de Beaune-- between the well known villages of Volnay and Meursault. This wine comes from the a small 0.2325 hectare parcel, Les Duresses. It is a Premier Cru Lieu Diet situated between the village and Volnay and the name could refer to the ‘duresse’, or hardness, of its minerality.
The nose opens with a savory tone and a light note of herbs and some black fruits with some minerality and a touch of fennel fronds. On the palate this is moderate in weight with a core of minerality and a flavor set of crushed rocks, earth and some black fruits. With some air this softens and bit and shows more black fruits and turned earth notes. Ideally a 1 hour decant or enjoyed 2028-2050. D&M Staff Notes Jan 2026
