OVERVIEW: "A fresh-faced, zesty whisky with a natural golden amber colour direct from the cask. Spicy but mellow, with subtle smoke on the finish, it’s a great introduction to the unique warmth of Orkney heathered peat—and the convivial spirit of our island home."

TASTING: “As invigorating as the Orkney breeze. Fresh, clean and floral on the nose, with heathered honey and a touch of citrus. Sweet and spicy on the palate, with toasty notes of burnt orange, jasmine and fruitcake. A long finish with peppery spice, woody notes and orange zest, and the subtle, aromatic kick of smoke that you only get from Orkney heathered peat.”

AGING: “To create the well-rounded character of the 12 year old, we harmonise whiskies matured in hand-selected, first-fill, sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, which together deliver its main flavour profile of spicy-sweetness and mellow warmth. Additional refill casks round out the powerful notes from the first-fill casks, resulting in a classic, versatile whisky that’s always finely balanced.”
