Dhomme Anjou Clos des Fresnaires 2024
This comes from a fourth generation estate that sits at the confluence of the Layon and the Loire rivers. Organically grown, this site has an average vine age of 30 years. The year was quite cold, so the harvest was later than normal. In the cellar this was fermented and rested in old oak barrels for six months. The nose opens with mixed stone fruits, a light beeswax, and a bit of a honeyed lift, all atop a core of white stone minerality. The palate showcases the coolness of the year with a taut acid / mineral forward style that does show white fleshed stone fruits, quince, citrus, and beeswax. - D&M TASTING NOTES, MK AUGUST 2026
IMPORTER NOTES:
ABOUT THE PRODUCER: “We discovered Domaine Dhommé at a trade tasting of organic producers in Saumur. Clarisse and her husband Quentin Dhommé have been organically farming their 25 hectares property since 2011. They harvest all their fruit by hand and only use indigenous yeasts. The couple make a number of excellent wines that we've brought into America for the first time.”
