Angostura Bitters 4oz | Angostura has been around since 1824 and still uses the same top secret ingRedients today as back then. Dr. Johann Siegert created this product in 1824 as an allevient for tropical stomach ailments in Venezuela, as he was the Surgeon General of Simon Bolivar's army. The bitters were first exported to England in 1830. In 1862 Dr. Siegert's son exhibited the bitters in gin, creating Pink Gin. The business was relocated from Venezuela to Trinidad in 1875 and remains there to this day. Though the exact ingRedients are not disclosed, it is probably a sfe assumption to say that Angostura uses a mix of botanicals - spices, herbs, obscure roots, leaves, flower buds - to extract into an alcoholic base. There are only five people called the "manufacturers" who prepare the ingRedients. — London Market
